Saturday Central Ceremony of the Islamic Community's Riyaset on the Occasion of the New Hijri Year 1446

(Patria) - The central ceremony of the Islamic Community's Riyaset in Bosnia and Herzegovina on the occasion of the New Hijri Year 1446 will be held on Saturday, July 6, after the evening prayer (Maghrib) starting at 6:30 PM, in the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque.

The sermon will be delivered by Prof. Dr. Enes Ljevaković, Deputy Reis-ul-Ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In a historical sense, the Hijra marks the migration of God's Messenger Muhammad, peace be upon him, and the first Muslims from Mecca to Medina, which occurred in 622 AD.

It is one of the most important events in the history of Islam and marks a turning point in the formation of a Muslim community based on sacrifice, brotherly love, and solidarity.

Due to the exceptional importance of this event, during the caliphate of Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, the Hijra was adopted as the beginning of the Muslim calendar.
