Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina to hold 5th regular congress on Saturday

(Patria) - The Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina will hold its 5th regular congress on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Sarajevo, in the amphitheater of the UNITIC building, starting at 2 PM. The congress is organized on the occasion of the celebration of 30 years of existence of this political party.

As announced, delegates at the Congress will elect the president, members of the Presidency, as well as the central bodies of the Party of BiH, which will define the political direction of action in the coming period.

The Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina was founded in the mid-nineties, and its founder and long-time leader was Haris Silajdžić. During its political activity, it has profiled itself as a party that strongly advocates for the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while opposing ethnic divisions and strengthening state institutions.

In previous mandates, it was part of the government at various levels, including the Council of Ministers of BiH and entity governments, where it participated in the adoption of laws and reform processes, especially in the areas of economy, refugee return, and strengthening state competencies.

The party was also active in international political initiatives, particularly through advocating for the revision of the constitutional arrangement of Bosnia and Herzegovina and strengthening the role of the state at the expense of entity competencies.

The congress comes at a time when the party is trying to redefine its political position on the domestic scene and renew its organizational structure after a longer period of weaker electoral results.
