Four million KM of medicinal water is wasted daily in Srebrenica, local authorities seek investors

In Srebrenica, medicinal water worth over four million KM is wasted daily on average. Data presented at the Investment and Development Conference in Srebrenica shows that springs in Srebrenica yield between 100 and 300 liters of medicinal guber water per day, with the value of one liter costing around 20 KM in pharmacies, writes the BH news agency Patria.

Dr. Almir Pašalić, who has been researching guber water in recent years, explained that Srebrenica's guber water is medicinal, and its controlled consumption aids in treating a wide range of ailments, including anemia and serious diseases like leukemia.
Due to these properties, there are real chances for this natural resource of Srebrenica to appear on pharmacy shelves worldwide, bringing hundreds of new jobs to Srebrenica.

- Today, there are many women worldwide suffering from anemia; this water helps with such problems – said Dr. Pašalić, adding that he has also treated some of his patients with the help of this guber water from Srebrenica.

The medicinal water in Srebrenica was discovered by experts from Austria-Hungary at the end of the 19th century, and it was already noted then that it was a unique medicinal water source in the world.

At the beginning of the conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1992, the development of the guber springs was halted. Two decades later, local authorities are inviting investors to once again invest in this natural resource that can bring rapid economic recovery to all of eastern Bosnia, writes Patria.
