Diplomatic Winter Bazaar held at Skenderija, 45 embassies and international missions represented

(Patria) - The Embassy of the State of Qatar is participating in the prestigious Diplomatic Winter Bazaar, which is being held today, December 2nd, in the "Mirza Delibašić" hall in Sarajevo's Skenderija.

All proceeds from this, by many accounts, largest humanitarian event in the country are intended for small organizations working to help disadvantaged children and youth throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Along with more than 45 embassies and international organizations, the State of Qatar, its culture, food, as well as appropriate messages from the Gulf country, were presented at the Winter Bazaar.

The Qatari Ambassador to Sarajevo, H.E. Meshaal Ali Mohammad Abdullah Al-Attiyah, also visited the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar on this occasion.

"The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with other friends from accredited embassies and international and domestic organizations, participates in activities that contribute to supporting non-governmental and civil associations that care for children," Ambassador Al-Attiyah emphasized.

He added that Qatar is presenting, among other things, items that in a certain way reflect the cultural values of his country. There are also toys for children, and some types of food specific to the State of Qatar and the Middle East.

"I hope we will achieve excellent results at the bazaar, especially since the Bosnian people are known for their humanity and providing assistance, as much as possible. We hope to participate in charitable work in the future that aims to support all those in need in Bosnia and Herzegovina," Ambassador Al-Attiyah conveyed.

The volunteer members of the Organizing Committee of the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar for 2023 are: Gry Reinertsen (Norway), Chair of the Organizing Committee, and Ilona Stölken (Germany), Piet Bakker (Netherlands), Dorina Kolici (Albania), Tania Messerli (Switzerland), and Madeline Ben Atiković (Philippines).

The Diplomatic Winter Bazaar is a non-profit organization in BiH that helps children and youth, and their families throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, including those in difficult financial and social situations, and with physical and mental disabilities, the organizers announced earlier.

Last year, 234,000 KM were collected at the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar, and this year they hope to achieve record results.
