EU-Western Balkans Ministerial Forum on Justice and Home Affairs held in Sarajevo

(Patria) - Bosnia and Herzegovina will host the EU-Western Balkans Ministerial Forum on Justice and Home Affairs, which will be held in Sarajevo on October 30 and 31, 2025 (Blue Hall - 4th floor, Building of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Trg BiH 1).

The event is organized by the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union in cooperation with the Ministry of Security and the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Forum represents an extremely important gathering of ministers of internal affairs and justice from the Western Balkan countries, as well as from the current and future EU presidencies, EU commissioners for internal affairs and justice, and representatives of relevant European Union agencies.

The first day of the Forum, dedicated to internal affairs, will focus on the current situation in the areas of online security, migration management, asylum, borders, and visa policy harmonization.

A new Joint Action Plan for the Prevention and Suppression of Terrorism and Violent Extremism for the Western Balkans will be signed on the sidelines of the meeting.

The second day, dedicated to justice, will address strengthening the rule of law through judicial reform and the fight against corruption, democratic resilience, and fundamental rights.

The Ministerial Forum will be addressed by Ivica Bošnjak, Deputy Minister of Security of BiH, Rasmus Stoklund Holm-Nielsen, Minister for Immigration and Integration of Denmark, Peter Thomsen Hummelgaard, Minister of Justice of Denmark, Magnus Brunner, European Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration.
