Sarajevo hosts promotion of the book 'How to Save Bosnia - Political Testament of Academician Muhamed Filipović'

(Patria) - A promotion of the book "How to Save Bosnia - Political Testament of Academician Muhamed Filipović", authored by journalist Faruk Vele, will be held today at the Faculty of Political Sciences (FPN) in Sarajevo, starting at 7:00 PM.

This book, which has already garnered significant attention from the Bosnian public, is published by "Connectum" Publishing House from Sarajevo, and marks the 5th anniversary of the death of one of Bosnia and Herzegovina's most prominent intellectuals.

As announced by "Connectum", the book will be discussed by Miro Lazović, wartime President of the Assembly of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Prof. Dr. Sead Turčalo, Dean and Full Professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo, Professor Emeritus Salih Fočo, former Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo and a decades-long friend of Academician Filipović, and the author himself.

"How to Save Bosnia" presents a series of exclusive interviews conducted by author Faruk Vele with Academician Muhamed Filipović during the last fifteen years of his life, some of which are published for the first time.

These pages reveal the political testament of a man who was a philosopher, essayist, politician, diplomat, and – above all – a guardian of the Bosnian idea.

- Resisting the 'history of the rejected', we wish to honor in this way a man who has immensely contributed to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and also to convey the messages and lessons of an important historical figure who marked the second half of the 20th and the first decade of the 21st century.

In today's time of numerous challenges for our homeland, which Professor Filipović consistently warned about in past decades, insisting on proactive and clearly defined Bosnian policy, this is an opportunity to perhaps make up for what has been missed - says Vele, adding that "his Bosnia will remember its last 'Bosnian grandfather'."

On the occasion of the realization of this significant publishing endeavor, renowned Bosnian intellectuals have written their reviews.

- Based on Filipović's words, the book posits that Bosnian policy must be inclusive and focused on the integrity of the state rather than particular ethnic interests - writes, among other things, Prof. Dr. Sead Turčalo.

- To the author Faruk Vele's questions, Academician Filipović responds clearly, precisely, visionarily, intellectually, enlightenly, as if he wants to open salvific spheres of the spirit for the people around him and thus ensure a peaceful and free future for coming Bosnians...

The interviews Vele collected and conducted with Academician Filipović can serve as a concise overview of a political idea and thought of liberal-democratic orientation, but also as an insight into the essential processes and ideas that Academician Filipović touched upon and directly participated in during his intellectual engagement - stated Prof. Dr. Senadin Lavić.

Finally, Prof. Dr. Salih Fočo, a close friend and collaborator of Professor Filipović, states:

- In his nine decades of life, Academician Filipović managed to remain upright and consistent with himself and his ideas about the value and significance of Bosnia and its peoples, as well as the value of man and his needs, as evidenced by his last interviews conducted with Faruk Vele, a close journalist and gifted writer in whom the professor had confidence that he would make them public even after his physical departure.

This is a book for all who want to understand the truth about Bosnia - through the words of a man who defended it with knowledge and ideas his entire life, states "Connectum" Publishing House.
