Book promotion 'Grabež' by Brigadier Mirsad Selmanović in Sarajevo

Brigadier Mirsad Selmanović will promote the book 'Grabež' in Sarajevo, in which he recorded some details from the war years 1992 and 1993 in the Bosanska Krajina region, NAP writes.

Grabež is a settlement in the municipality of Bihać, about 5 km east of the city. In Krajina, it is considered that during the war years, Grabež represented the central point of resistance of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina against the aggressor in this part of BiH, but also a place that many families from Bihać remember because they saw their fathers, brothers, and sons off for the last time at Grabež.

Selmanović's book is named after this locality. The book is an authentic testimony of the author about the events during the war in this part of the country.

The book promotion will be held in the hall of the Stari Grad Municipality, on Thursday, December 8, at 6:30 PM. In addition to the author, the promotion will feature speeches by Generals Atif Dudaković and Ramiz Dreković, as well as Ferid Buljubašić and Samra Hrnjica.
 
Mirsad Selmanović was born on September 5, 1952, in Bihać, where he completed elementary school. He finished secondary military school in 1972 in Sarajevo, after which he worked for a year in the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA), and then went to the Military Academy of the Ground Forces, which he completed in 1977 in Belgrade. As a JNA officer, he performed military service in Sarajevo. In 1988, he went to Belgrade, where he completed the Command and Staff School of Ground Forces Tactics, after which he returned to service in Sarajevo.
At the beginning of 1992, he left the JNA and went to his native Bihać, where he served as commander of the First Bihać Brigade within the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the end of 1993, he was appointed chief of staff of the 5th Army Corps and remained in that position until the end of the war. He left active military service in 1999. He was wounded twice during the war.
Grabež is his second book. He previously published the book "Profession and Politics".
