Third Technicijada opened in Sarajevo: Over 2,000 students in sports gathering of high schools

(Patria) - The third Technicijada was opened on the sports fields of the School for Traffic and Communications Sarajevo - a major sports gathering of students from secondary technical and vocational schools in the Canton of Sarajevo, which is growing year by year and confirming its increasing importance in the school system.



The Technicijada was officially opened by the Minister of Education and Upbringing of the Canton of Sarajevo, Naida Hota-Muminović, who, in her address to students and teachers, emphasized the importance of togetherness, healthy lifestyles, and the role of school in the holistic development of young people.

- The Technicijada brings together an increasing number of students year after year and is rightly growing into a tradition that carries important values: togetherness, responsibility, and mutual respect.



Through such gatherings, students have the opportunity to learn from each other, connect, and develop, not only through classes but also through sports and joint activities. That is why the Ministry continuously invests in programs that contribute to your development - said Hota-Muminović, declaring the Technicijada 2026 open.

This year's Technicijada brings together over 2,000 students from 21 schools and three secondary school centers, with the support of approximately 50 sports and physical education professors, thus connecting more than half of the secondary schools in the Canton of Sarajevo.



Institutions that work with students with developmental disabilities also participate in the program, further confirming the inclusive nature of this event.

Within the program, students participate in football, basketball, volleyball, athletics, table tennis, and chess, with equal participation of male and female teams and an emphasis on teamwork, mutual respect, and sportsmanship.



The Technicijada has a pronounced educational and social significance, promotes a healthy lifestyle, connects students from different schools, contributes to their mental health, and provides a space for socializing, exchanging experiences, and making new friendships.

The Ministry supported this year's Technicijada with 20,000 KM, continuing its continuous investment in the development of school sports and extracurricular activities.



These activities build upon previous investments in sports infrastructure, including the reconstruction of the sports field of the host school, thereby improving the conditions for organizing such events. The project is supported by municipalities and economic entities, in addition to the Ministry.

The event will last for six days, with the final matches planned at the end of the program. Activities are carried out at multiple locations, including outdoor fields and the sports hall of the host school, the Vocational Centers of Vogošća and Hadžići, as well as the fields of the Secondary Medical School Jezero.



In its third year, the Technicijada is shaping up to be a tradition, an event that connects schools, empowers students, and builds a healthier and more active school environment for students in the Canton of Sarajevo.
