(Patria) - A protest march was held in Sarajevo today as a sign of support for the people of Palestine, attended by a large number of citizens.
The protests began with a gathering at Sebilj, and the participants proceeded in a peaceful march to the Square of Bosnia and Herzegovina, carrying banners with messages of solidarity.
The Palestinian community in Sarajevo organized this gathering to draw attention to the difficult situation the Palestinian people are in due to the war in Gaza. One of the first gatherings in Sarajevo was held a year ago. The conflict began on October 7, and tens of thousands of Palestinians, mostly in Gaza, have been killed to date. Several refugees and BiH citizens have left Gaza and come to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The gathering was attended by the Ambassador of Palestine to BiH Rezeq Namoora, Dr. Ahmed Shahin, a Palestinian doctor from Gaza, Nihad Kreševljaković, historian and director of MESS, Avdo Hebib, president of the Association of Bosnian-Palestinian Friendship, and Ahmed Al-Mordeha and Safija Tadefi on behalf of the Palestinian youth and organizers.
All expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, warning of the genocide being committed by Israel in Gaza.
