New protests and peaceful support march for Gaza in Sarajevo today

Protests and a peaceful march in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza are scheduled for today in Sarajevo. The protests will be held at 12:00 on the plateau near Sebilj.

An independent youth gathering in Bosnia and Herzegovina has called on Sarajevans to gather for a peaceful march of support for the residents of Gaza, who are suffering daily from Israeli attacks.

The aim of the event is to raise awareness of the difficult humanitarian conditions faced by people in Palestine and to pay tribute to those who have been killed.

"Given the recent tragic events in Palestine, where dozens of journalists, medical teams and civilians have lost their lives, we believe it is crucial to gather and show our support in these difficult times," the organizers said in announcing the protest.

While Israel's attack is often characterized as defensive, the Arab-Islamic summit hosted by Saudi Arabia on Saturday called for an end to the war in Gaza and rejected the justification of Israeli actions against Palestinians as self-defense, agencies reported.

The summit condemned "the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, war crimes and barbaric and inhumane massacres by the occupation government," according to the final communiqué.

The statement calls for an end to the siege of Gaza, allowing humanitarian aid to enter the enclave and stopping arms exports to Israel.

Arab and Muslim leaders also said they rejected any proposal that would separate Gaza from the West Bank in a future Palestinian state. The final statement emphasized the importance of "the unity of Gaza and the West Bank as the territory of the Palestinian state," with East Jerusalem as its capital.
