Metropolitan Chrysostom enthroned in the Cathedral Church

The newly elected Metropolitan of Dabar-Bosna, Chrysostom, was enthroned and installed on the throne in the Cathedral Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God in Sarajevo, writes the Patria agency.

Before his enthronement, the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy was served, led by Serbian Patriarch Irinej.

After taking office, Chrysostom stated that he takes over the leadership of the Metropolitanate of Dabar-Bosna with great optimism.

Among the numerous Orthodox faithful in the Cathedral Church in Sarajevo were the Russian Ambassador to BiH Petar Ivancov, BiH Presidency member Mladen Ivanić, BiH Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Mirko Šarović, High Representative in BiH Valentin Inzko, and representatives of other religious communities in our country.

Bishop Chrysostom is the 61st Metropolitan of the Metropolitanate of Dabar-Bosna, founded by Saint Sava in 1221.

Bishop Chrysostom will succeed Metropolitan Nikolaj on the throne of the Metropolitans of Dabar-Bosna, who managed the Metropolitanate from 1992 to 2015.
