Republika Srpska no longer wants Sušić: Their candidate will be Bajević

The Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team no longer has a head coach as of last night, given that Safet Sušić's contract has expired, reports the Patria news agency. Although both the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sušić have „shyly“ shown interest in continuing cooperation, it is increasingly certain that the popular Pape will not lead the Dragons through the qualifiers for the European Championship.

As confirmed today to NAP by Elvedin Begić, the president of the N/FSBiH, the name of the head coach will not be known until after July 10, because by then Sušić must submit work reports, and simultaneously analyses of BiH's performance at the World Cup, as well as what preceded the departure to the Mundial, are being conducted.

- I said back in Brazil that there is mutual desire to extend cooperation with Safet Sušić, so we will see – said Begić.

But, judging by the stories coming from the football's governing body, members of the Executive Board of the N/FSBiH, specifically people from the Football Association of Republika Srpska, no longer want Sušić at the helm of the team.

As Mile Kovačević, a member of the EB of the N/FSBiH, himself admitted, RS will have its own candidate for the new head coach, and as NAP learns, that candidate will be Dušan Bajević. Incidentally, the other members of the Executive Board have nothing against Bajević, given that his coaching experience can be useful for BiH on its path to the European Championship.

Alongside Bajević, some members of the Executive Board are lobbying for Faruk Hadžibegić, Sergej Barbarez, Mehmed Baždarević...

Ivica Osim has not yet given his opinion on everything, and it is known that it was he who "saved" Sušić from leaving the position of BiH head coach twice.
