No new coronavirus cases in Republika Srpska

(Patria) - Compared to yesterday, there are no new confirmed cases of coronavirus positivity, said the Minister of Health and Social Protection of Republika Srpska, Alen Šeranić, after a meeting of the Staff for monitoring the epidemiological situation in RS regarding the new coronavirus.

A total of 18 people are infected with the coronavirus, he added.

Šeranić, who is also the president of this Staff, points out that three new cases since yesterday are contacts of previously infected people. All three individuals are from Banja Luka.

A total of six people are at the University Clinical Center (UKC), and all are in good health, with no one's condition worsening. At the same time, 12 people are in home isolation and are being monitored by doctors. A total of 21 people have been discharged from UKC so far.

Šeranić stated that the institutions of Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH have agreed on inspection measures and that they will be implemented at all border crossings, and measures for self-isolation or entry ban into BiH will be issued.

"The recommendation was agreed upon this morning. Yesterday, we coordinated recommendations and sent them to the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH, and they further to the Council of Ministers of BiH," he said.

Lejla Rešić, Minister of Administration and Local Self-Government of Republika Srpska, pointed out the importance of all local communities respecting the orders and recommendations of the Crisis Staff.

She said that an instruction will be issued tomorrow for local communities to reduce the number of social contacts, such as going to service counters and the like.

Rešić stated that discipline is extremely important at the moment and that municipal police will be authorized to check at home addresses whether people in self-isolation are complying with the orders.
