(Patria) - The 30th batch of new soldiers of the BiH Armed Forces (AF BiH) was ceremonially promoted today at the "Rajlovac" barracks of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, having completed their training at the "Mika Bosnić" barracks on Manjača and "Rajlovac" in Sarajevo.
A total of 401 young soldiers are involved, making this 30th batch the largest to have gone through the AF BiH Basic Training Centre.
With a ceremony held in Čapljina on December 21st, 140 soldiers officially entered active military service in the AF BiH, and with this ceremony in Rajlovac, the second part of 261 soldiers took their solemn oath, officially marking the entire 30th batch's accession to the AF BiH.
The commemorative ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Defence of BiH for Policy and Plans, Slaven Galić, Deputy Chief of the AF BiH Joint Staff for Resource Management, Major General Gojko Knežević, Parliamentary Military Ombudsman Boško Šiljegović, Inspector General of the MoD BiH, Brigadier General Mirsada Ahmić, Deputy Commander of the AF BiH Operational Command for Operations, Brigadier Mirzet Lubenović, and other representatives of the MoD and AF BiH, as well as civil society organizations, and relatives and friends of the newly recruited soldiers.
- I congratulate the newly recruited soldiers on their dedicated work and commitment during training. You have an obligation to continue with the same enthusiasm in your first duties in the units, to selflessly apply all the acquired knowledge and skills in carrying out your daily tasks - Galić said on this occasion.
He announced that the MoD and AF BiH will continue to provide employment opportunities for young and capable citizens of BiH even more intensively.
In his address, General Knežević emphasized that the AF BiH has trained around 7,000 young soldiers so far, with the aim of strengthening overall capabilities, capacities, and readiness to perform any mission.
The Commander of the AF BiH Basic Training Centre, Colonel Alem Kaplan, pointed out that it was challenging to conduct the training of a batch of soldiers outside the Basic Training Centre location for the first time.
However, as he stated, the reason is motivating - the implementation of a modern heating system project, financed by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany. Colonel Kaplan thanked everyone who contributed to the realization of this training.
The most successful candidate in the soldier training was Vejsil Avdibašić, who received a commendation from the AF BiH Joint Staff.
