
(Patria) - The remains of one person, believed to be a Bosniak victim who went missing in this area in 1992, were exhumed at the Čarakovo site near Prijedor, the Institute for Missing Persons (INO) of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed to Detektor.
The complete remains of one victim of the past war were exhumed at the Čarakovo site near Prijedor.
INO BiH spokesperson Emza Fazlić said the body was found in the yard of a family home.
- This location had already been worked on once before, however, no remains were found. Now we worked on a wider area and this time they were found - Fazlić pointed out.
The victim's remains were transferred to the "Šejkovača" Identification Center in Sanski Most, where they will undergo criminal-technical and forensic-medical processing, as well as the extraction of bone samples for the purpose of establishing identity through DNA analysis.
The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that the exhumation was carried out on July 28 and 29 on its order and by order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Also present were an investigator from INO BiH, workers and machinery, as well as local police who secured the exhumation site.
