State of Natural Disaster Declared in Posavina Canton Due to Drought

(Patria) - The Government of Posavina Canton at today's session adopted a Decision declaring a state of natural disaster due to drought in the canton's territory.

Due to a prolonged period without sufficient amounts of precipitation for the normal growth, development and ripening of agricultural crops, there has been a reduction in yield and quality of field crops, fruit and vegetable crops and products in beekeeping, the Government of Posavina Canton announced.

At the session, a decision was also adopted on the use of funds from the budget of Posavina Canton for 2024 from the Grant for co-financing the procurement of textbooks for students.

The funds will be used for co-financing the procurement of textbooks for primary school students from 1st to 6th grade in the amount of 100 KM per student, for students in 7th, 8th and 9th grade in the amount of 250 KM per student, and for 1st grade secondary school students in the amount of 150 KM per student, according to lists submitted by primary and secondary schools from the area of Posavina Canton.

A Decision was also adopted approving the allocation of funds from the budget of Posavina Canton for 2024 from the Grant for co-financing the procurement of textbooks for students in the amount of 250,000 KM.

The Government of Posavina Canton considered and adopted the Report on budget execution for the period January 1 - June 30, 2024.

In the mentioned period, revenues, receipts and financing were realized in the amount of 29,450,845 KM or 43.72 percent of the total plan for 2024, while expenditures and outlays were executed in the amount of 27,337,851 KM or 40.58 percent of the total plan for 2024.

The difference between realized revenues, receipts and financing and executed expenditures and outlays in the reporting period amounts to 2,112,994 KM.

Compared to the plan for the reporting period, the execution of revenues, receipts and financing is lower by 4,231,902 KM or 12.56 percent, while the execution of expenditures and outlays is lower by 6,344,896 KM or 18.84 percent.

Compared to the execution in the same period of the previous year, there was an increase in revenues, receipts and financing by 3,280,884 KM or 12.54 percent, while executed expenditures and outlays are higher by 3,460,657 KM, or 14.49 percent, the statement adds.
