Commemoration on Monday on the occasion of the death of Sulejman Kupusović

The last farewell and commemoration session on the occasion of the death of prominent BiH director Sulejman Kupusović will be held at the National Theatre Sarajevo on August 25, 2014, at 12:00 PM, it was announced by the National Theatre Sarajevo, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

As previously reported by Večernji list, Kupusović was cremated in Zagreb according to his own wish. The prominent artist passed away on August 15 after a battle with a serious illness at the age of 63.

He graduated in theatre, film, television, and radio directing from the Academy of Theatre and Film Arts in Zagreb in 1974, and philosophy and comparative literature at the University of Zagreb. He directed in theatres across former Yugoslavia, as well as in Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey. His plays were performed in Mexico, Guatemala, France, Germany, Spain, Turkey, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Sweden, Italy, and Austria. In addition to theatre plays, he also directed television dramas and series - "Tale", "The Milić Family Memoirs", "Visa for the Future", "Together", and a number of documentary and music programs. He also directed the opera "Hasanaginica", and is the author of the theatre hit "Women's Turbofolk Band" performed by the ensemble of the Chamber Theatre 55.
