Cycling race 'Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina' starts from Sarajevo on Friday: See where traffic will be blocked

(Patria) - On Friday, April 17, traffic will be difficult on certain sections, cities, and municipalities due to the stage of the international cycling race 'Tour of Bosnia and
Herzegovina'. The race passes through the route Sarajevo-Konjic-Jablanica-Mostar-Čapljina-Ljubuški-Grude-Stolac-Neum.

The race starts from Sarajevo, where there will be changes in traffic flow:

Friday, 17. 04. 2026. (Sarajevo – Konjic – Mostar)

Due to the passage of the race caravan, traffic on the M17 main road will be difficult and temporarily blocked. A complete traffic stop on the section from Mostar towards the north (Sarajevo) is planned between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Traffic flow from the direction of Sarajevo towards Mostar will be difficult and slowed down along the entire route (travel will be behind the race caravan at an average speed of 40 km/h) all the way to Mostar, when the race will enter Mostar at 2:00 PM.

Difficult traffic flow and complete traffic blockades are foreseen in blocks as the race approaches each city/municipality, and below are the approximate times of traffic closures and the arrival of the race caravan in each city/municipality separately.

Sarajevo: The race start is planned for 11:00 AM, when traffic on the M17 main road (Maršala Tita Street, the main road in Sarajevo) from the direction of Pale towards Ilidža and further to Hadžići will be completely blocked. At 11:15 AM, the caravan is expected to arrive in Ilidža, at 11:45 AM in Hadžići, and at 12:00 PM at the Ivan Tunnel. After the race caravan passes each of the mentioned locations, the road will be opened and traffic will return to normal.

Konjic: The caravan is expected to arrive at 12:15 PM. Traffic will be completely blocked from 11:45 AM. The passage of the race through Konjic is planned until 12:25 PM, after which traffic will return to normal.

Jablanica: The caravan is expected to arrive at 12:40 PM. Traffic will be completely blocked from 12:10 PM. The passage of the race through Jablanica is planned until 12:50 PM, after which traffic will return to normal.

Mostar: The caravan is expected to arrive at 1:45 PM. Traffic will be completely blocked from 1:15 PM. In Mostar, the race will complete 3 laps on Kralja Tomislava Street (Avenija) on the section from the roundabout in Zalik to the intersection with Nadbiskupa Čule and Kralja Petra Krešimira Streets (Spajalica/old Velež buildings). The arrival of the fastest cyclist at the finish line is predicted for 2:20 PM, after which traffic will return to normal. Kralja Tomislava Street (in front of the Economic and Tenth Primary Schools), as well as Stjepana Radića Street (from Projektant to Zrinjski Stadium) will remain blocked due to the award ceremony.

Official finish: Scheduled for 4:30 PM.

Traffic closures are also planned for the second and third days of the race, and the race concludes on Sunday in Neum.
