Internal elections in HDZ this year, dismissals of members with poor election results

(Patria) - Internal elections in HDZ BiH for municipal, city, cantonal, and regional organizations of that party are being held this year.

For these reasons, after the General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, there are huge turbulences within the political leadership of that party. Some leaders of HDZ BiH did not achieve good election results, after which their credibility within the party itself was shaken.

Thus, the current deputy chairwoman of the Club of Croats in the House of Peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the president of HDZ in Novi Travnik, Zdenka Džambas, won only 1,980 votes in the last elections in the race for the Assembly of the Central Bosnia Canton. Out of nine HDZ members who won a mandate in that cantonal assembly, Džambas is only in seventh place in terms of the number of votes won. In Novi Travnik, Zdenka Džambas's electoral unit, she won only 768 votes.

In the general elections in 2014, Džambas won 2,666 votes for the House of Representatives of the Federation of BiH.

The deputy president of HDZ, Borjana Krišto, and a member of the leadership of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament for her second term, won 4,440 votes in the October elections, which is almost 2,000, or thirty percent fewer votes compared to the 2014 elections when Krišto won 6,379 votes.

HDZ BiH representatives who won significantly more votes, but who do not have the support of President Dragan Čović and HDZ media, are now seeking better positions within the party itself, writes Patria.
