No COVID-19 Cases in BiH MoD and Armed Forces

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A Team for monitoring the situation in the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) has been meeting daily at the Ministry of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo since March 13, 2020. The Team is chaired by the Deputy Minister of Defence of BiH for Resources, Mirko Okolić.

The Team includes responsible heads of organizational units of the MoD and AF BiH. At the fifth session held on Thursday, March 19, 2020, the Team concluded that there are still no COVID-19 cases in the MoD and AF BiH. Furthermore, measures taken so far to protect against the virus, as well as the engagement of the AF BiH in implementing the Decision of the Presidency of BiH of March 18, 2020, were analyzed.

As part of additional protective measures, starting today, all individuals entering the Ministry of Defence of BiH building are obliged to undergo body temperature measurement and hand and shoe disinfection procedures.
The primary task of the Team is to monitor the situation and oversee the implementation of preventive medical measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of BiH, as well as to provide guidelines to the organizational units of the MoD and AF BiH. The Team is also responsible for monitoring personnel movements in MoD and AF BiH activities held abroad.
