Exhumation of victims from the past war is underway in the municipality of Derventa

(Patria) - At the site of the Prvi kvart cemetery in the municipality of Derventa, an exhumation process has been underway since early morning, supervised and coordinated by an investigator from the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.

At the mentioned location, the remains of at least six persons have been exhumed so far, and the exhumation process will continue in the coming days.

"The found remains will be transported to the Commemorative and Identification Center (KIP) Šejkovača in Sanski Most, where forensic medical and criminal-technical processing will be carried out, i.e., bone samples will be taken to determine the identity of the victims through DNA analysis.

Officials from the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH, a forensic medicine specialist, and police officers from the Derventa Police Station are participating in the exhumation process.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, together with all institutions involved in the process of searching for and identifying missing persons, continues intensive activities to search for missing persons in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina," the Prosecutor's Office of BiH announced.
