Olovo declares Day of Mourning tomorrow due to tragic death of 17-year-old

(Patria) - A Day of Mourning will be observed in the Municipality of Olovo tomorrow due to the tragic death of 17-year-old Irhad Mehanović.

The Day of Mourning will be marked by lowering flags to half-mast at the Municipality of Olovo building and at the buildings of public enterprises and institutions founded by the Municipality of Olovo, as well as other business entities in the area of the Municipality of Olovo.

On the Day of Mourning, no public, cultural, or entertainment programs will be held in public places, and no music will be played in catering facilities or other public establishments.

The decision to declare the Day of Mourning obliges media outlets in the Municipality of Olovo to adapt their programming content to the Day of Mourning.

The boy died tragically during a school trip at the Ajdinovići Sports and Recreation Center when, while playing football with his peers, he slipped and grabbed the goalpost.

Given that the goalpost was not secured, it fell on the 17-year-old, who was transferred to the KCUS on the same day, May 29, where he underwent surgery.
