Entering the New Year with Above-Average Warm Air and Light Rain

(Patria) - Warm air masses from the south will continue to cause above-average air temperatures, so this year will be as warm as the previous one despite a very cold spring and autumn. The last days of this year will pass in a cloudy atmosphere with occasional light rain or drizzle. Moderately cloudy with some sunny intervals is expected towards the end of the year in the southern Herzegovina and Krajina regions, according to the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute.

Total precipitation this year will be very close to the average values for the period 1991-2020. Minimum morning air temperatures will range from 1°C to 6°C in Bosnia, and up to 9°C in the south of the country. Maximum daily temperatures will be between 4 and 9°C in Bosnia, and up to 13°C in Herzegovina.

The first days of the New Year will not differ much from the last days of this year. Above-average warm and predominantly cloudy weather with light rain will prevail. Mid-week (from 04.01.), with a noticeable drop in air temperature, snow is also possible in most of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Minimum air temperatures will range from -5°C to 0°C in Bosnia, and 5°C to 10°C in Herzegovina. Maximum daily temperatures will range between 0 and 6°C in Bosnia, and up to 8°C in Herzegovina.
