Four cars seized on Sunday, drivers owe 24,000 KM in fines

Sarajevo police seized four vehicles on Sunday, and according to records, the drivers owe more than 24,000 KM in fines, Patria reports.

A BMW with license plate M16-T-775 was seized. An inspection of the misdemeanor records and fine registers revealed that the driver is a repeat offender of serious traffic violations under the Law on Road Traffic Safety (ZOOBS) in BiH, punishable under Article 235 of the same Law, with a debt of 4,340.00 KM in the fine register.

Police officers of the First Police Station removed H.A. from Sarajevo from traffic, who was caught driving a passenger motor vehicle of the brand “VW Golf”, license plate T25-K-464. An inspection of the misdemeanor records and fine registers revealed that he is a repeat offender of serious traffic violations under the Law on Road Traffic Safety (ZOOBS) in BiH, punishable under Article 235 of the same Law, with a debt of 7,080.00 KM in the fine register.

On December 4, 2016, police officers of the First Police Station removed V.A. from Zavidovići from traffic, who was caught driving a passenger motor vehicle of the brand “Opel Vektra” without license plates. An inspection of the misdemeanor records and fine registers revealed that he is a repeat offender of serious traffic violations under the Law on Road Traffic Safety (ZOOBS) in BiH, punishable under Article 235 of the same Law, with a debt of 2,440.00 KM in the fine register.

On December 4, 2016, police officers of the First Police Station removed M.V. from Sarajevo from traffic, who was caught driving a passenger motor vehicle of the brand “Fiat”, license plate K64-E-676. An inspection of the misdemeanor records and fine registers revealed that he is a repeat offender of serious traffic violations under the Law on Road Traffic Safety (ZOOBS) in BiH, punishable under Article 235 of the same Law, with a debt of 10,840.00 KM in the fine register.

Since the sanctions imposed so far have not achieved the purpose of punishment, as they continued to commit the most serious forms of traffic violations under the Law on Road Traffic Safety (ZOOBS) in BiH, thereby directly endangering public safety, based on the consent of the judge of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, the motor vehicles were temporarily seized from them. The vehicles will be stored at the depot of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton in Butmir until the conclusion of the misdemeanor proceedings.
