Serb unity cracks in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska

The National Assembly of Republika Srpska rejected and strongly condemned the decision to initiate a review of the verdict against Serbia, which, as indicated in the conclusions, was made against the will of other constituent peoples in BiH.

Representatives of Republika Srpska in the institutions of BiH were called upon to use all means to prevent decisions from being made until vital issues for Republika Srpska are resolved, writes Patria.

And it was precisely on this that Serb unity, which was mentioned countless times in the assembly hall during yesterday's all-day session of the entity parliament, faltered.

46 MPs from the ruling coalition voted in favor, while 23 MPs from the opposition, the Alliance for Change, abstained. Serb unity has cracked.

-We did not agree on a conclusion stating that Serbs in BiH who represent Republika Srpska in the institutions of BiH should block the state of BiH for the sake of the Court and Prosecutor's Office of BiH. For whom and for what, for Dodik and many who are in a position to have to answer before that court and prosecutor's office, and we should implement their decisions and orders, said SDS leader Vukota Govedarica.

Dodik insisted on amending the Criminal Code of Republika Srpska, which would define that the conclusions of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska must be implemented, and if someone refuses to do so, it would be a criminal offense. Govedarica believes that this is exclusively about settling scores with political opponents, and that is unacceptable for SDS.

President of PDP Branislav Borenović said he believed they would reach an agreement.

-I was wrong. This was truly an improvisation never before seen in Parliament. Their intention was to use this moment exclusively, and not for the first time, for marketing purposes, said Borenović.
