Traditional jumps from the Old Bridge in Mostar today

(Patria) - Traditional jumps from the Old Bridge in Mostar will be held today starting at 4 PM. This is the 458th jump competition, which will feature about fifty jumpers.

This year again, the competition will take place in two disciplines: feet-first jumps and head-first jumps, and there will also be exhibition jumps by veterans.

During the weekend, a tavla tournament, coffee drinking from the world's largest cezve, which is also in the Guinness Book of Records, and a torchlight parade, i.e., jumps with torches, will be held to close the event.

A novelty of this year's event is that the jumps will be judged by only one jury, unlike in previous years when there were separate juries for feet-first and head-first jumps.

The jury will consist of Mustafa Jahura, Mirsad Deda Pašić, Emir Balić, Duško Bajević, and Željko Džeba.

Otherwise, the organizers of this event recently announced at a press conference that the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH will announce a competition in September this year for the inscription of Mostar's jumps on the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage.
