Maglaj residents also finding parts of tombstones from Zavidovići

Maglaj, a town that is one of the hardest hit by the catastrophic floods that have struck Bosnia and Herzegovina, still does not have its old appearance today. People are cleaning their apartments and houses, and there is still a lot of garbage on the streets.

As a resident of Maglaj told the Patria News Agency, a stench is spreading through the city, making it impossible to stay outdoors without masks. A particular problem is that the stench also enters houses, making it almost impossible to ventilate them, as recommended by the Institute for Public Health.

- The large floods carried away all sorts of things. You won't believe it when I tell you that we found parts of Orthodox tombstone markers from Zavidovići. In one part of the city, there is a huge cross with a man's name carved on it, but this tombstone is not from Maglaj and could be from Zavidovići – says a Maglaj resident for NAP, adding that he hopes the city will soon return to normal and that residents will be able to start living as before.
