More migrants arriving in Lipa, hygiene issues arise

The Service for Foreigners' Affairs stated that 750 migrants are currently staying in "Lipa", and in cooperation with members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Una-Sana Canton, they plan to continue with activities to accommodate those who were staying in abandoned facilities.

The improvised tent settlement in the "Lipa" migrant camp also involves improvised personal hygiene maintenance, which often leads to a higher number of scabies cases. The Bihać Health Center disinfected the tents in the middle of the month, and bedding and clothing were distributed to the users.

Returnees in Bosanski Petrovac are concerned about the increased influx of migrants into the temporary reception camp "Lipa", where more tents and containers are being set up for their accommodation.

The president of the "Returnees" Association, Nemanja Davidović, said that instead of solving the crisis, this space is being further expanded, and that fear prevails among the returnees due to the large number of migrants staying there.

- With the arrival of good weather, even more of them will come, and no one can predict what that number will be. We are not satisfied that they are here, that the camp is expanding, and that no one is listening to us. This is not a solution to the migrant crisis, this is only deepening it - Davidović stated.
