Little Spanish Dance School Starts Tonight at KUD "Baščaršija"

A two-day seminar of classical Spanish dance – flamenco, will begin today at the premises of the Cultural and Artistic Society Baščaršija in Sarajevo at 8 PM, writes BH news agency Patria.

Participants of the intensive seminar will have the opportunity to learn about different rhythms, technique and choreography, under the instruction of Daniela Knežević, who has a rich repertoire of performances in this art.

Flamenco is a Spanish musical genre, characterized by a strong rhythmic tone, and is often performed with an equally passionate dance also called flamenco, expressive, graceful performances and with complex hand and footwork.

The genre was, until about 150 years ago, a marginal part of culture in the then Spanish society, associated with Spanish Roma, especially Andalusian, writes Patria.
