In Sarajevo Canton, six deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - According to data from the Public Health Institute of KS, 121 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Sarajevo Canton yesterday, after 941 samples were tested in the laboratory. In the same period, 104 people recovered from Covid-19 infection. Six people died as a consequence of this infection.

Currently, 143 patients are hospitalized, of whom 135 have acute infections, while the others are post-Covid or are in observation/triage.

The proportion of vaccinated people among hospitalized patients is 20.28 percent.

73 patients are being treated at the University Clinical Center of Sarajevo, and 70 at the General Hospital “Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš”. Seven people are on ventilators, and 14 patients are using non-invasive ventilation. Six patients are using oxygen support.

Sarajevo Canton currently records 1,549 active cases of Covid-19 infection. Currently, 2,602 people are in self-isolation.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Sarajevo Canton, a total of 64,439 people have been infected with coronavirus, and 61,389 have recovered.

"In the past seven days, the average number of infected people is 145, while the weekly incidence, i.e., the number of sick people per 100,000 inhabitants, is 241", according to data from the Public Health Institute of KS.

In the Covid-outpatient clinics of the Public Institution Health Center KS, 301 patients were examined, of whom three were transported to hospital treatment. 813 PCR swabs were taken at drive-in points and in Covid-outpatient clinics. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and Semizovac operate every day from 07:30 to 20:00.

The Covid-call center recorded 315 calls, and 242 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in the Covid-outpatient clinics.

This weekend, immunization for our citizens is available at the SCC shopping center, and 259 doses of vaccines were administered there yesterday.

Vaccination will continue in health centers in all nine municipalities of Sarajevo Canton starting Monday. 

The Ministry of Health of KS once again calls on citizens to get vaccinated to protect their health and the health of those around them. This ministry and health institutions thank citizens for their cooperation and urge them to continue respecting all prescribed hygienic-epidemiological measures.
