According to data available to the Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton, there were no coronavirus infections in Sarajevo Canton in the past 24 hours, which is why the epidemiological situation remains at a satisfactory level.
A series of concrete measures and activities aimed at preventing the occurrence of coronavirus in the Sarajevo Canton area have been agreed upon with the Government of Sarajevo Canton and its line ministries. In this regard, we remind you that the KS Government decided last week to organize online classes for primary and secondary school students and university students through the KS Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, in accordance with the orders of the KS Crisis Staff. Also, on March 13 this year, the Ministry issued an Order to suspend the operation of preschool institutions for at least 15 days and extended daycare in primary schools in the Sarajevo Canton area until March 25, 2020.
The Ministry, in the conditions of the declared coronavirus pandemic, calls on all students to continuously follow online classes and fulfill their assigned tasks within the prescribed deadlines while regular classes are suspended in educational institutions, and to accept them with the same responsibility as classes "in the classroom", to respect the orders/recommendations of the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health and the Crisis Staff of the KS Ministry of Health, which also constitutes a legal obligation, to avoid unnecessary movement and lingering in public gathering places, and to avoid gathering large numbers of people in indoor and outdoor spaces.
In coordination with the KS Ministry of Communal Economy and Infrastructure and KJKP "Rad", enhanced street washing and cleaning has been agreed upon, starting this morning in the central part of Hadžići and in the area of the Municipality of Novi Grad. On Monday, this activity is planned to be carried out in the municipalities of Stari Grad, Centar, and in part of the Novo Sarajevo municipality.
The Cantonal Crisis Staff appeals to the population to strictly adhere to the recommended measures, namely: maintaining hand hygiene, avoiding handshakes, strengthening hygiene measures in homes and increased disinfection, frequent ventilation of rooms they stay in, respecting social distance, avoiding staying in closed spaces with a larger number of people, even in home conditions. They also recommend reducing visits to healthcare facilities to the minimum possible.
They also remind that the Order of the Crisis Staff is in force, which requires persons who have stayed in countries threatened by coronavirus infection in the last 14 days (especially China, Italy, South Korea and Iran, as well as all other threatened areas), who have not undergone sanitary control at border crossings and have not been issued a decision on health surveillance/self-isolation, to contact the competent epidemiological service of the KS Public Health Institute by phone at the following numbers: 062/086- 282, 062/030-778, 062/030-796 and 062/030-728, in order to establish health surveillance and maintain a register.
They emphasize that failure to implement this measure for the protection of the population from infectious diseases is subject to criminal liability. They state that stopping the spread of coronavirus and a possible epidemic is the responsibility of all citizens.
