233 patients hospitalized with coronavirus in Sarajevo Canton

PCR and antigen test results in the past 24 hours confirmed 1,059 new cases of coronavirus infection in Sarajevo Canton.

According to the Public Health Institute of Sarajevo Canton, in the same period, 1,018 people recovered from Covid-19 infection. Three people died from the consequences of this disease.

Currently, 233 patients are hospitalized, of whom 229 have acute infections. The proportion of unvaccinated people among hospitalized patients is 73.39 percent.

164 patients are being treated at the University Clinical Center Sarajevo, and 69 at the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš". Eight people are on ventilators, nine are using non-invasive ventilation, while 10 patients are on oxygen support.

Sarajevo Canton currently records 6,078 active cases of Covid-19 infection. Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 88,846 people infected with coronavirus and 81,035 recovered have been registered in Sarajevo Canton.

"The weekly incidence, i.e., the number of infected people per 100,000 inhabitants, is 945," according to data from the Public Health Institute of Sarajevo Canton.

In the Covid outpatient clinics of the Public Institution Health Center Sarajevo Canton, 715 patients were examined, of whom 10 were transported to hospital treatment. 1,324 swabs were taken at drive-in points and in Covid outpatient clinics. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and in Semizovac and Novo Sarajevo operate every day from 07:30 to 20:00.

The Covid call center recorded 1,458 calls, and 449 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in Covid outpatient clinics.

In the past day, 474 people were vaccinated in Sarajevo Canton.

The Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton once again calls on citizens to get vaccinated to protect their health and the health of those around them. They also thank citizens for their cooperation and invite them to continue respecting all prescribed hygiene and epidemiological measures.
