KS: 57 New Infections, Three Deaths

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - According to data from the KS Public Health Institute, 57 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Sarajevo Canton yesterday, after 487 samples were laboratory tested. In the same period, 124 people recovered from Covid-19 infection.

Unfortunately, three patients died as a result of this disease.

Currently, 101 patients are hospitalized, of whom 97 have acute infections, while the rest are post-covid or are in observation/triage. The proportion of unvaccinated people among the hospitalized is 74.26 percent.

52 patients are being treated at the University Clinical Center Sarajevo, and 49 at the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš". Five people are on ventilators, 15 are using non-invasive ventilation, and six patients are on oxygen support.

Sarajevo Canton currently records 1,448 active cases of Covid-19 infection. There are currently 2,010 people in self-isolation.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Sarajevo Canton, a total of 69,509 people have been registered as infected with coronavirus, while 66,432 have recovered.

"In the past seven days, the average number of infected people is 111, while the weekly incidence, i.e., the number of sick people per 100,000 inhabitants, is 184," according to data from the KS Public Health Institute.

165 patients were examined in the Covid-clinics of the Public Institution Health Center KS, of whom two were transported to hospital treatment. 528 PCR swabs were taken at drive-in points and in Covid-clinics.

Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and Semizovac operate every day from 07:30 to 20:00.

The Covid-call center recorded 221 calls, and 160 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in Covid-clinics.

From the beginning of December until today, a total of 9,770 doses of coronavirus vaccine have been administered.

The Ministry of Health KS once again urges citizens to get vaccinated to protect their own health and the health of those around them. They also thank citizens for their cooperation and call on them to continue respecting all prescribed hygienic-epidemiological measures.
