20 new cases of infection in Sarajevo Canton

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In Sarajevo Canton, 20 new cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in the past 24 hours.

These are the results of testing 218 samples collected from September 8 to 12 this year, according to the report from the Sarajevo Canton Public Health Institute.

Of this number of newly infected, 13, or 65 percent, belong to family clusters or are contacts of previously ill individuals, and have been in self-isolation since before.

Since the last report, 21 people have recovered, reducing the number of active coronavirus infection cases in Sarajevo Canton to 297 people. 

There are 23 patients undergoing treatment in the isolation ward of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo Podhrastovi, of whom two are using respiratory support for breathing.

There were no patients discharged from this hospital treatment.

Fortunately, there were no deaths, so the total number of deaths caused by the infectious disease COVID-19 remains 74.

Currently, 684 people are in self-isolation.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,276 people have been registered with the new coronavirus infection in Sarajevo Canton, while a total of 3,905 people have recovered to date.
