164 new cases of infection in Sarajevo Canton, three people died

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - According to data from the Sarajevo Canton Public Health Institute, 164 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Sarajevo Canton yesterday, after 1,189 samples were laboratory tested. In the same period, 108 people recovered from Covid-19 infection.

Unfortunately, three patients died from the consequences of this disease.

Currently, 120 patients are hospitalized, of whom 107 have acute infections, while the rest are post-Covid or are under observation/triage. The proportion of unvaccinated people among hospitalized patients is 84.17 percent.

74 patients are being treated at the University Clinical Center of Sarajevo, and 46 at the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš". Seven people are on ventilators, 13 are using non-invasive ventilation, and five patients are on oxygen support.

Sarajevo Canton currently records 1,538 active cases of Covid-19 infection. Currently, 2,166 people are in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 70,764 people infected with coronavirus and 67,574 recovered have been registered in Sarajevo Canton.

"In the past seven days, the average number of infected people is 124, while the weekly incidence, i.e., the number of sick people per 100,000 inhabitants, is 206," according to data from the Sarajevo Canton Public Health Institute.

336 patients were examined in the Covid-ambulatories of the Public Institution Health Center of Sarajevo Canton, of whom nine were transported to hospital treatment.

828 PCR swabs were taken at drive-in points and in Covid-ambulatories. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and Semizovac operate every day from 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM.

The Covid-call center recorded 482 calls, and 214 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in Covid-ambulatories.

Last day, 792 people were vaccinated in Sarajevo Canton.

The Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton once again calls on citizens to get vaccinated to protect their own health and the health of those around them. They also thank citizens for their cooperation and invite them to continue respecting all prescribed hygienic-epidemiological measures.
