In Sarajevo Canton 160 new cases of Covid-19

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - According to data from the KS Public Health Institute, 160 new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Sarajevo Canton in the past day, after 1,151 samples were laboratory tested. In the same period, 117 people recovered from Covid-19 infection.

Unfortunately, one patient died from the consequences of this disease.

Currently, 107 patients are hospitalized, of whom 99 have acute infections, while the others are post-covid or are in observation/triage. The proportion of vaccinated people among the hospitalized is 23.36 percent.

There are 55 patients being treated at the University Clinical Center of Sarajevo, and 52 at the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš". Seven people are on ventilators, and eight patients are using non-invasive ventilation. 11 patients are on oxygen support.

Sarajevo Canton currently records 1,549 active cases of Covid-19 infection. Currently, 2,224 people are in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 67,406 people infected with coronavirus and 64,276 recovered have been registered in Sarajevo Canton.

"In the past seven days, the average number of infected people is 121, while the weekly incidence, i.e., the number of sick people per 100,000 inhabitants, is 201," according to data from the KS Public Health Institute.

In the Covid-19 outpatient clinics of the Public Institution Health Center KS, 299 patients were examined, of whom seven were transported to hospital treatment. A total of 995 PCR swabs were taken at drive-in points and in Covid-19 outpatient clinics. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža and Semizovac operate every day from 07:30 to 20:00.

The Covid-19 call center recorded 467 calls, and 210 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in the Covid-19 outpatient clinics.

A total of 938 doses of vaccines were administered in Sarajevo Canton during the past day.

The KS Ministry of Health once again calls on citizens to get vaccinated to protect their health and the health of those around them. This ministry and healthcare institutions thank citizens for their cooperation and invite them to continue to respect all prescribed hygienic-epidemiological measures.
