136 New Infections in Sarajevo Canton, Four Deaths

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - According to data from the Sarajevo Canton Public Health Institute, 136 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Sarajevo Canton yesterday, after 1,178 samples were laboratory tested. In the same period, 80 people recovered from Covid-19 infection.

Four patients died as a result of this disease.

Currently, 115 patients are hospitalized, of whom 97 have acute infections, while the rest are post-covid or are under observation/triage. The proportion of unvaccinated individuals among hospitalized patients is 81.74 percent.

62 patients are being treated at the University Clinical Center of Sarajevo, and 53 at the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš". Six people are on ventilators, and seven patients are using non-invasive ventilation. Five patients are on oxygen support.

Sarajevo Canton currently records 1,601 active cases of Covid-19 infection. Currently, 2,234 people are in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 67,542 people infected with coronavirus have been registered in Sarajevo Canton, and 64,356 have recovered.

"In the past seven days, the average number of infected people is 121, while the weekly incidence, i.e., the number of sick people per 100,000 inhabitants, is 201," according to data from the Sarajevo Canton Public Health Institute.

328 patients were examined in the Covid-clinics of the Public Institution Health Center KS, of whom two were transported to hospital treatment.

840 PCR swabs were taken at the drive-in points and in the Covid-clinics. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and Semizovac operate every day from 07:30 to 20:00.

A total of 608 doses of vaccines were administered in Sarajevo Canton during the past day. A total of 1,603 people were vaccinated in Sarajevo Canton during November.

The Ministry of Health of KS once again calls on citizens to get vaccinated to protect their own health and the health of those around them. This ministry and health institutions thank citizens for their cooperation and urge them to continue respecting all prescribed hygienic-epidemiological measures.
