Search launched in Konjic for missing 72-year-old Ibrahim Ivković

KONJIC, (Patria) - A search was launched today in Konjic for 72-year-old Ibrahim Ivković from Bugojno. Ivković, according to the driver of the bus that operated on the Sarajevo – Bugojno route, got off the bus around 4:15 PM in Konjic and headed towards the Konzum shopping center in Kolonija. Since then, all trace of him has been lost.

The disappearance of Ivković Ibrahim from Bugojno was reported on February 8 to the Konjic Police Station. As stated by Mustafa Gakić, the commander of the police station, Ivković was last seen getting off the bus at the bus stop in Konjic and heading towards the shopping center by the Neretva River. The bus was operating on the Sarajevo-Bugojno route, and the driver waited for Ivković for a few minutes but had to continue towards Bugojno due to the schedule.

The search operation of the Neretva riverbed was launched based on the assumption that Ivković reached the riverbank and may have, by unfortunate circumstances, fallen into the swollen water, given that the water level that day was slightly higher than usual.

The search of the Neretva riverbed is being conducted by members of the Civil Protection and Firefighting Service of the Konjic Municipality, as well as members of the sports and recreational club Neretva, who are also part of the federal water rescue team. The assistant chief of the Civil Protection and Firefighting Service, Husein Hodžić, stated that the search is being carried out with two boats from the New Bridge (Yuri Gagarin Bridge) to the Jablanica Lake, i.e., Orahovica. Due to poor conditions, low visibility, and snowfall, the search is difficult but will continue in the coming days.

Ivković is 72 years old, has gray hair, one arm is paralyzed due to a previous stroke, and on the day of his disappearance, he was wearing a white jacket. If you have any information that could help in the search, please notify the police station by calling 122.
