91 new coronavirus infection confirmed in Sarajevo Canton, three people died

(Patria) - According to the data of the Institute for Public Health of Sarajevo Canton, 91 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Sarajevo Canton in the past day, after 817 samples were laboratory tested. In the same period, 100 people recovered from the Covid-19 infection.

Three patients, unfortunately, died from the consequences of this disease.

Currently, 103 patients are hospitalized, of which 98 have an acute infection, while the others are post-covid or under observation/triage.

The share of unvaccinated persons in the number of hospitalized is 74.76 percent.

At the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, 55 patients are being treated, and at the General Hospital “Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš” 48. Seven people are on respirators, 10 are using non-invasive ventilation, while 11 patients are on oxygen support.

Sarajevo Canton today records 1,518 active cases of Covid-19 infection. Currently, 2,040 people are in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 69,452 people infected with coronavirus and 66,308 recovered have been recorded in Sarajevo Canton.

"In the past seven days, the average number of infected is 112, while the weekly incidence, i.e., the number of patients per 100,000 inhabitants, is 186", according to the Institute for Public Health of Sarajevo Canton.

In the Covid clinics of the Public Institution Health Center of Sarajevo Canton, 183 patients were examined, of which two were transported for hospital treatment.

At drive-in points and in Covid clinics, 634 PCR swabs were taken. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža and Semizovac work every day from 07:30 to 20:00 hours.

The Covid call center recorded 455 calls, and 202 conversations with patients were conducted via telephone numbers in the Covid clinics.

Since the beginning of December, a total of 9,770 doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered.

The Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton once again calls on citizens to get vaccinated, in order to preserve their own health and the health of those around them. Also, they thank citizens for their cooperation, and call on them to continue to respect all prescribed hygienic-epidemiological measures.
