Sarajevo Canton: 858 new coronavirus cases, one person died

(Patria) - Results of PCR and antigen tests in the past 24 hours confirmed 858 new cases of coronavirus infection in Sarajevo Canton. 

According to the KS Public Health Institute, in the same period, 1,169 people recovered from Covid-19 infection. One person died from the consequences of this disease. Currently, 227 patients are hospitalized, of whom 211 have acute infections. 

The proportion of unvaccinated people among hospitalized patients is 71.37 percent. 

At the University Clinical Center Sarajevo, 158 patients are being treated, and at the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš" 69. Six people are on ventilators, three are using non-invasive ventilation, and 18 patients are on oxygen support. 

Sarajevo Canton currently records 6,040 active cases of Covid-19 infection. Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 87,787 people infected with coronavirus and 80,017 recovered have been registered in Sarajevo Canton. 

"The average daily number of cases in the past seven days is 990," according to data from the KS Public Health Institute. 

In the Covid-ambulatories of the Public Institution Health Center KS, 641 patients were examined, of whom seven were transported to hospital treatment. 1,152 swabs were taken at drive-in points and in Covid-ambulatories. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and in Semizovac and Novo Sarajevo operate every day from 07:30 to 20:00. 

The Covid call center recorded 2,216 calls, and 469 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in Covid-ambulatories. 

A total of 740 doses of coronavirus vaccine were administered during the past day. 

The Ministry of Health of KS once again calls on citizens to get vaccinated to protect their health and the health of those around them. They also thank citizens for their cooperation and urge them to continue to respect all prescribed hygiene and epidemiological measures.
