551 new coronavirus cases in Sarajevo Canton

(Patria) - PCR and antigen test results in the past 24 hours confirmed 551 new cases of coronavirus infection in Sarajevo Canton.

According to the KS Public Health Institute, 1,125 people recovered from Covid-19 infection in the same period.

One person died as a result of this disease.

Currently, 187 patients are hospitalized, of whom 180 have acute infections.

The proportion of unvaccinated people among the hospitalized is 67.91 percent.

122 patients are being treated at the University Clinical Center Sarajevo, and 65 at the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš". Seven people are on ventilators, 11 are using non-invasive ventilation, and nine patients are on oxygen support.

Sarajevo Canton currently records 6,353 active cases of Covid-19 infection. Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 86,929 people infected with coronavirus and 78,847 recovered have been registered in Sarajevo Canton.

"The weekly incidence, i.e., the number of sick people per 100,000 inhabitants, is 1,028," according to data from the KS Public Health Institute.

514 patients were examined in the Covid-clinics of the Public Institution Health Center KS, of which three were transported to hospital treatment. 534 swabs were taken at drive-in points and in Covid-clinics. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and in Semizovac and Novo Sarajevo operate every day from 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM.

The Covid call center recorded 1,143 calls, and 503 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in the Covid-clinics.

The KS Ministry of Health once again calls on citizens to get vaccinated to protect their own health and the health of those around them. They also thank citizens for their cooperation and invite them to continue to respect all prescribed hygiene and epidemiological measures.
