499 new coronavirus cases in Sarajevo Canton

(Patria) - According to data from the Public Health Institute of Sarajevo Canton, 499 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Sarajevo Canton yesterday, after laboratory testing of 2,021 samples. In the same period, 199 people recovered from Covid-19 infection. Unfortunately, two patients passed away.
Currently, 117 patients are hospitalized, of whom 109 have acute infections, while the rest are post-Covid or are under observation/triage. The proportion of unvaccinated individuals among hospitalized patients is 74.36 percent.

There are 72 patients being treated at the University Clinical Center of Sarajevo, and 45 at the General Hospital “Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš”. 12 people are on ventilators, nine are using non-invasive ventilation, and seven patients are on oxygen support.

Sarajevo Canton currently records 2,591 active cases of Covid-19 infection. Currently, 3,295 people are in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 73,178 people infected with coronavirus and 68,910 recovered have been registered in Sarajevo Canton.

"In the past seven days, the average number of infected people is 301, while the weekly incidence, i.e., the number of sick people per 100,000 inhabitants, is 501," according to data from the KS Public Health Institute.

508 patients were examined in the Covid-clinics of the Public Institution Health Center KS, of whom three were transported to hospital treatment.

A total of 2,014 PCR swabs were taken at drive-in points and in Covid-clinics.
Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and in Novi Grad and Semizovac operate every day from 07:30 to 20:00.

The Covid-call center recorded 962 calls, and 385 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in the Covid-clinics.

A total of 1,795 doses of coronavirus vaccine were administered yesterday.

The Ministry of Health of KS appeals to citizens to get vaccinated to protect their health and the health of those around them. They also thank citizens for their cooperation and invite them to continue respecting all prescribed hygienic-epidemiological measures.
