In Sarajevo Canton, 45 new coronavirus cases, 74 recovered

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In the past 24 hours, 45 new coronavirus cases have been registered in Sarajevo Canton. In the same period, 74 people have recovered from Covid-19 infection.

Of this number of newly infected, 28, or 66.22 percent, belong to family clusters or contacts with previously infected individuals, which is why they have been in self-isolation since before.

Unfortunately, two patients infected with this virus died yesterday.

In the past day, 526 people were tested for coronavirus. Sarajevo Canton currently records 889 active cases of COVID-19 infection. Currently, 3,943 of our fellow citizens are in self-isolation.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Sarajevo Canton, a total of 51,992 people infected with coronavirus have been registered, as well as 49,883 cured individuals.

According to data from the Public Health Institute of KS, in the past seven days, the average number of infected people is 47, while the weekly incidence, i.e., the number of patients per 100,000 inhabitants, is 78.

Currently, 185 patients are hospitalized in KS, with 113 at the University Clinical Center Sarajevo and 72 patients at the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš".

Four patients are on ventilators, three at UKCS and one patient at the General Hospital.

At the same time, 22 patients at UKCS and 10 patients at the General Hospital are using oxygen support for breathing above 15 liters per minute.

In the past 24 hours, 12 people were discharged from hospital.

In the Covid-outpatient clinics of the Public Institution Health Center KS, 420 patients were examined, of whom seven were transported to the General Hospital and nine to UKCS.

The following number of PCR swabs were taken at drive-in testing points: 58 at Vrbanja, 23 in Novi Grad, 19 in Semizovac, and 10 in Ilidža.

The total number of PCR swabs taken at the points and Covid-outpatient clinics is 289.

The Covid-call center recorded 372 calls, and 197 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in the Covid-outpatient clinics.

The Ministry of Health of KS and healthcare institutions thank the citizens and ask them to continue respecting all prescribed hygienic-epidemiological measures.
