Sarajevo Canton: 320 New Coronavirus Cases, No Deaths

(Patria) - According to data from the Public Health Institute of Sarajevo Canton, 320 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in SC yesterday, after laboratory testing of 1,354 samples. In the same period, 244 people recovered from Covid-19 infection. There were no deaths from the consequences of this disease.

Currently, there are 137 patients in hospital treatment, of whom 126 have acute infections, while the others are post-Covid or are under observation/triage.

The proportion of unvaccinated individuals among hospitalized patients is 74.45 percent.

There are 89 patients being treated at the University Clinical Center of Sarajevo, and 48 at the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš". 13 people are on ventilators, nine are using non-invasive ventilation, and seven patients are on oxygen support.

Sarajevo Canton currently records 2,877 active cases of Covid-19 infection. There are currently 3,940 people in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic in Sarajevo Canton, a total of 73,922 people have been infected with coronavirus, while 69,367 have recovered.

"In the past seven days, the average number of infected people is 369, while the weekly incidence, i.e., the number of sick people per 100,000 inhabitants, is 613," according to data from the Public Health Institute of SC.

450 patients were examined in the Covid-outpatient clinics of the Public Institution Health Center SC, of whom four were transported to hospital treatment.

A total of 1,159 PCR swabs were taken at drive-in points and in Covid-outpatient clinics. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and in Novi Grad and Semizovac operate every day from 07:30 to 20:00.

The Covid call center recorded 607 calls, and 327 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in the Covid-outpatient clinics.

A total of 982 doses of coronavirus vaccine were administered yesterday.

The Ministry of Health of SC appeals to citizens to get vaccinated to protect their own health and the health of those around them. They also thank citizens for their cooperation and invite them to continue respecting all prescribed hygiene and epidemiological measures.
