Canton of Sarajevo: 167 New Coronavirus Cases, Three Deaths

(Patria) - According to data from the KS Public Health Institute, 167 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in the Canton of Sarajevo yesterday, after 1,289 samples were laboratory tested. In the same period, 131 people recovered from Covid-19 infection.

Unfortunately, three patients died as a result of this disease.

Currently, 158 patients are hospitalized, of whom 142 have acute infections, while the others have post-Covid conditions or are undergoing observation/triage.

The proportion of vaccinated individuals among the hospitalized is 19.62 percent.

At the University Clinical Center of Sarajevo, 88 patients are being treated, and at the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš" 70. Seven people are on ventilators, and 13 patients are using non-invasive ventilation. 10 patients are on oxygen support.

The Canton of Sarajevo currently records 1,543 active cases of Covid-19 infection.

A total of 2,473 people are currently in self-isolation.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in the Canton of Sarajevo, a total of 65,842 people have been infected with coronavirus, and 62,761 have recovered.

"In the past seven days, the average number of infected people has been 134, while the weekly incidence, i.e., the number of sick people per 100,000 inhabitants, is 222," according to data from the KS Public Health Institute.

In the Covid-outpatient clinics of the Public Institution Health Center KS, 151 patients were examined, of whom six were transported to hospital treatment.

A total of 929 PCR swabs were taken at the drive-in points and in the Covid-outpatient clinics. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and Semizovac operate every day from 07:30 to 20:00.

The Covid call center recorded 577 calls, and 208 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in the Covid-outpatient clinics.

During the past day, a total of 607 vaccine doses were administered in the health centers in KS.

The KS Ministry of Health once again calls on citizens to get vaccinated to protect their health and the health of those around them. This ministry and health institutions thank citizens for their cooperation and urge them to continue respecting all prescribed hygiene and epidemiological measures.
