In Sarajevo Canton, 155 New Coronavirus Cases, Five Deaths

 

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - According to data from the KS Public Health Institute, 155 new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Sarajevo Canton in the past day, after 1,186 samples were laboratory tested. In the same period, 104 people recovered from Covid-19 infection.

Unfortunately, five patients died as a result of this disease. Currently, 115 patients are hospitalized, of whom 106 have acute infections, while the others are post-Covid or are under observation/triage.

The proportion of unvaccinated individuals among hospitalized patients is 81.74 percent. 67 patients are being treated at the University Clinical Center Sarajevo, and 48 at the General Hospital “Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš”. Five people are on ventilators, 14 are using non-invasive ventilation, and seven patients are on oxygen support.

Sarajevo Canton currently records 1,535 active cases of Covid-19 infection. There are currently 2,013 people in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 69,008 people infected with coronavirus have been registered in Sarajevo Canton, and 65,857 have recovered.

"In the past seven days, the average number of infected people is 108, while the weekly incidence, i.e., the number of sick people per 100,000 inhabitants, is 180," according to data from the KS Public Health Institute.

255 patients were examined in the Covid-outpatient clinics of the Public Institution Health Center KS, of whom eight were transported to hospital.

792 PCR swabs were taken at drive-in points and in Covid-outpatient clinics. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and Semizovac operate every day from 07:30 to 20:00.

The Covid call center recorded 554 calls, and 216 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in the Covid-outpatient clinics.

In the past day, 707 people were vaccinated in Sarajevo Canton.

The KS Ministry of Health once again urges citizens to get vaccinated to protect their health and the health of those around them. They also thank citizens for their cooperation and call on them to continue to adhere to all prescribed hygiene and epidemiological measures.
