Canton of Sarajevo: 138 New Cases, Five Deaths

(Patria) - According to data from the KS Public Health Institute, 138 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in the Canton of Sarajevo yesterday, after 901 samples were laboratory tested.

In the same period, 137 people recovered from Covid-19 infection. Unfortunately, five patients died as a consequence of this disease.

Currently, 150 patients are hospitalized, of whom 137 have acute infections, while the others have post-Covid conditions or are in observation/triage.

The proportion of vaccinated people among the hospitalized is 20 percent.

At the University Clinical Center of Sarajevo, 84 patients are being treated, and at the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš" 66. Six people are on ventilators, and 12 patients are using non-invasive ventilation. Twelve patients are using oxygen support for breathing.

The Canton of Sarajevo currently records 1,509 active cases of Covid-19 infection.

Currently, 2,501 people are in self-isolation.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in the Canton of Sarajevo, a total of 65,675 people have been registered as infected with coronavirus, and 62,631 have recovered.

"In the past seven days, the average number of infected people is 135, while the weekly incidence, i.e., the number of sick people per 100,000 inhabitants, is 223," according to data from the KS Public Health Institute.

In the Covid-clinics of the Public Institution Health Center KS, 203 patients were examined, of whom five were transported to hospital treatment.

A total of 1,013 PCR swabs were taken at the drive-in points and in the Covid-clinics. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and Semizovac operate every day from 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM.

The Covid-call center recorded 607 calls, and 226 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in the Covid-clinics.

During the past day, a total of 725 doses of vaccines were administered in the health centers in KS.

The Ministry of Health of KS once again calls on citizens to get vaccinated to protect their health and the health of those around them. This ministry and health institutions thank citizens for their cooperation and invite them to continue respecting all prescribed hygiene-epidemiological measures.
