122 new cases of coronavirus infection in Sarajevo Canton

(Patria) - According to data from the Public Health Institute of KS, 122 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Sarajevo Canton yesterday, after laboratory testing of 848 samples. In the same period, 92 people recovered. Unfortunately, four people died from the consequences of this infection.

Currently, 134 patients are hospitalized, of whom 131 have acute infections, while the rest have post-COVID conditions or are under observation/triage.

The proportion of vaccinated individuals among hospitalized patients is 20.90 percent.

64 patients are being treated at the University Clinical Center Sarajevo, and 70 at the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš". Five people are on ventilators, while 16 are using non-invasive ventilation. Three patients are on oxygen support of more than 15 liters per minute.

Sarajevo Canton currently records 1,538 active cases of Covid-19 infection. Currently, 2,594 people are in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic in Sarajevo Canton, a total of 64,318 people have been infected with the coronavirus, and 61,280 have recovered.

"In the past seven days, the average number of infected people is 144, while the weekly incidence, i.e., the number of sick people per 100,000 inhabitants, is 239," according to data from the Public Health Institute of KS.

352 patients were examined in the Covid outpatient clinics of the Public Institution Health Center KS, of whom eight were transported to hospital treatment. 626 PCR swabs were taken at drive-in points and in Covid outpatient clinics. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and Semizovac operate every day from 07:30 to 20:00.

The Covid call center recorded 438 calls, and 219 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in the Covid outpatient clinics.

During the past day, a total of 250 doses of vaccines were administered in the health centers in KS.

We note that from November 1, 2021, after the closure of the vaccination point at Zetra, the immunization of the population is carried out in health centers in all nine municipalities of Sarajevo Canton.

The Ministry of Health of KS once again calls on citizens to get vaccinated to protect their health and the health of those around them.
