In Sarajevo Canton, 1,149 new coronavirus cases, seven people died

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Results of PCR and antigen tests in the past 24 hours confirmed 1,149 new cases of coronavirus infection in Sarajevo Canton.

According to the Public Health Institute of SC, in the same period, 966 people recovered from Covid-19 infection. Seven people died from the consequences of this disease. Currently, 224 patients are hospitalized, of whom 218 have acute infections. The proportion of unvaccinated people among hospitalized patients is 75 percent.

161 patients are being treated at the University Clinical Center Sarajevo, and 63 at the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš". 10 people are on ventilators, nine are using non-invasive ventilation, while eight patients are on oxygen support.

Sarajevo Canton currently records 6,254 active cases of Covid-19 infection. Since the beginning of the pandemic in Sarajevo Canton, a total of 89,995 people have been infected with coronavirus and 82,001 have recovered.

"The average daily number of cases in the past seven days is 935," according to data from the Public Health Institute of SC.

697 patients were examined in the Covid-ambulatories of the Public Institution Health Center SC, of whom 12 were transported to hospital. 1,013 swabs were taken at drive-in points and in Covid-ambulatories. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and in Semizovac and Novo Sarajevo operate every day from 07:30 to 20:00.

The Covid-call center recorded 1,337 calls, and 481 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in Covid-ambulatories.
