Largest public gathering in 50 years held in Jajce

The international jumps from the waterfall in Jajce were watched yesterday by more than 5,000 tourists, which, except for the sanctuary in Podmilačje where up to 30,000 Catholics gather, was on Saturday the largest public gathering in the last 50 years of this royal city, confirmed for the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP) Huso Hadžić, director of the Agency for the Protection of Heritage of Jajce.

The first international jumps from the waterfall in Jajce, unique of their kind in the world, attracted the attention of the world public. This event was also covered by numerous regional and world media, including the American network NBC. In the culture section of this network's portal, which has millions of readers, there was a picture of the waterfall with a brief explanation that these were the first international jumps from the waterfall in Jajce, writes NAP.

The first place was won by Lorens Listo from Mostar, second was Mladen Cvetković from Kragujevac, and third place was won by Ivica Domanović from Užice. A total of 18 jumpers from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia competed.

The waterfall in Jajce is about 21 meters high and was formed at the confluence of the Pliva and Vrbas rivers. According to many assessments, it is among the ten most beautiful waterfalls in the world. It is one of the rare waterfalls located in the very center of the city, writes NAP.
